Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you this amazing recipe for homemade crackers that are loaded with healthy seeds and spices. These crackers are perfect for snacking, dipping, or topping with your favorite cheese or Quick and Easy Fresh Tomato Salsa They are also super easy to make, and you only need a few ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.
Ingredients:
3 cups All-Purpose Flour
⅔ cup Flax Seeds
⅓ cup Chia Seeds
1 ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Everything but the Bagel Seasoning
¼ teaspoon Paprika
½ cup Unsalted Butter
1 cup Water
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
The main ingredients for these crackers are all-purpose flour, flax seeds, chia seeds, baking powder, salt, Everything but the Bagel Seasoning, and paprika. Flax seeds and chia seeds are both rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, protein, and antioxidants. They also add a nice crunch and texture to the crackers. Everything but the Bagel Seasoning is a blend of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic, onion, and salt that adds a lot of flavors and makes these crackers taste like bagels. Paprika gives a subtle smoky and spicy kick to the crackers.
To make the dough, you just need to mix all dry ingredients into a large bowl. Then cut some butter into the flour mixture with a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Then you add some water and olive oil and mix with a fork until the dough comes together. You don't need to knead the dough or let it rise. Just divide it into smaller portions and roll them out as thin as possible on a floured surface. You can use a pizza cutter or a knife to cut the dough into squares and place them on a baking sheet. You can also poke some holes in the crackers with a fork if you want them to be crispier.
Bake the crackers in a preheated oven for about 8 minutes or until they are golden and crunchy. Let them cool slightly on a wire rack before enjoying them. These crackers are so delicious and satisfying that you won't be able to stop eating them. They are great with Quick and Easy Fresh Tomato Salsa, hummus, cheese, or any dip you like. You can also experiment with different spices and herbs to make your own variations of these crackers.
